The magic of the horse is in his power, compassion, caring, and ability to connect and feel. Jamie Sams and David Carson tell us in their glorious book of Medicine Cards that the phrase “stealing horses is stealing power” was a frequent native American statement and a reference to the highly esteemed position that horses took in historical Native America.
When I stand beside a horse, I am aware of his amazing strength as well as his capacity to feel and convey sensitivity. His towering beauty fills me with a sense of awe and at the same time a surge of peace and comfort. Truthfully, I just can’t get enough of them!
Horses reflect back to us our own power and an understanding of how best to use it– not forcefully, but with a sense of love behind it. They are gentle reminders of the exquisiteness of Nature and all of Her amazing creatures.
